Voucher not worth it

Was bought a voucher for a 2 night break for Christmas, but tried to use it and I can't!. At the weekend I tried no less than 20 hotels on the website, and none had breaks during the week, the only ones I was offered were at the weekend which incurred an additional £50 charge, per night! I then upgraded, paid another £60, and exactly the same happened! If I paid all of the extra money, it would be more than the hotel are advertising the room for in the first place! Would DEFINITELY NOT recommend.
