Complaint against Sainsbury\u0027s

Visited Sainsburys in Godalming, Surrrey this morning to return a pair of trousers that I didn't want.Because I had lost my receipt I was instructed to chose something of a similar value which I accepted & duly did. On my return to the customer service desk there was extra to pay ( which I accepted) I was asked for my Nectar card. I store all my cards on my phone so handed it to the assistant who looked somewhat confused so explained that sometimes it can be scanned ,if not by entering the numbers it works also. The assistant tried it once & returned the phone saying that there were numbers missing. I have been using this in store for several weeks now with no problem. I went upstairs for coffee & it worked ok there, I shopped a spent well over £100 & it worked. I am not bothered by the fact that I missed out 26points but by the assistants attitude. I didn't argue my point at the time as I don't think arguments in public are in anyway constructive. Being customer service one would expect better service.
