Complaint against Venntro

Last year I joined a mature age adult dating service supplied by Ventro Media Group. I paid what appeared to be a one-off joining fee and received some members contact details. It was soon apparent that contacts provided by the service who met my designated criteria were few and far between. Consequently I spoke to an employee at the contact number requesting that my membership be cancelled. Subsequently I kept receiving contacts and again requested that my subscription be cancelled. Today I was horrified to discover that Ventro Media Group had been taking $59.95 from my Visa Card every month since joining. My Complaints are:- (a) I did not knowingly give permission for Ventro Media Group to take ongoing monthly payments from my Visa Card, thinking that the initial payment was a joining fee and that a service fee would be paid for the uptake of any contacts, rather than the ongoing monthly payments. (b) The company did not supply a service that met my parameters in terms of contacts provided, or came close to matching competing services. (c) The company did not heed my requests to cancel the service and the associated ongoing monthly fees. Consequently I seek full refund of the ongoing monthly fees.
