[LAPSED] False information shared when being called to upgrade my phone

Complaint against The Phone Spot

I was contacted by Emma- saying she was calling from Carphone Warehouse and that as my phone was due for an upgrade in December and she could offer me a good deal. The deal offered was comparable to those already discussed through O2 and other companies previously and as the date of upgrade / renewal was coming closer- I agreed to proceed with the purchase of a new phone on the same plan as i am currently on with O2. It was not until i received an email from The Phone Spot and looked up the Company on line that I realised i had been duped. I have spoken to Carphone Warehouse and O2 for advice. My emails to The Phone Spot have been not deliverable. My tel. call indicated this was outside of the working hours. From what i have read here, other people have not been successful in contacting this company either so i will not be trying again. I will not accept delivery of the phone- i will be speaking to my bank and will cancel any DD from this company ( whether they are a subsidiary of CarPhone Warehouse or Not) I feel they have been dishonest in their approach to me!!!! Interestingly- O2 did not have any record of my Upgrade having been completed and it is still recorded as due in December? This will not be the end of the matter- I intend to report it to anyone who will listen!!!
