[RESPONDED] How do I cancel a verbal agreement

Complaint against The Phone Spot

Fast talking salesman phoned on the day my contract expired. Told him I was deaf and had difficulty in hearing him. A text arrived on my mobile saying the order would be processed in 14 days but no order number or contact details for me to cancel the deal. I phoned customer services, who said there was a long waiting time, phone later. I did and they said the office was closed for staff training. I have told bank to put a tag on my account so no money will be taken. I want confirmation from this company that the deal has been cancelled

I managed to get through to customer services at the end of the working day and my order has now been cancelled. I still think it smacks of sharp practice not to give an order number and contact details, so that the cooling off period can be used
