Complaint against Virgin Media

I have been having trouble with my internet for last 3-4 weeks rang virgin on a number of occasions finally told an engineer would need to come to Solve the problem so made an appointment for the Monday then I took day off work and waited for the repair man to arrive. I waited till almost 5pm when he still hadn't arrived I rang virgin up what a joke they are they told me the issue had been fixed and my appointment had automatically been cancelled without needing to inform me. When I asked why I hadn't been informed he said it was the computer that had cancelled the appointment but I should have still been informed then I wouldn't have had to wait all day. Virgin had the cheek to give me a discount for loss of services of £3.58. So I've had virtually no internet and a day off work to be give £3.58 can't believe that's the compensation for it. What you gonna do virgin media
