Complaint against Virgin Media
I have 6 months left of an 18 month contract with virgin media. I phoned them to state I was moving house and would need my virgin box set up in the new address. After giving my details I was told virgin cannot supply a service in the new area and my only option is to cancel. I was also informed I would need to pay an early disconnection fee of £240. I stated that I should not have to pay this as it is the company that cannot supply a service where I am moving too. They told me they can still provide a service to my current address though, that the contract is took out under. So basically they would be happy for me to pay for my virgin package for someone else to use as I will no longer be at that address. I feel that in this situation as the customer I should not be liable for the disconnection fee. It would be different if I phoned them telling them I was cancelling for no reason.
