Complaint against Virgin Media

We have been a loyal customer of Virgin Media for over 20 years. We called in March to downgrade our services because of a price increase in February and because we were not using all of the services. This locked us into another 12 month contract! We are now moving house and Virgin Media cannot supply to our new address. I do not feel that this is our fault, we would happily take them with us if we could. They now want to charge us £240 in early disconnection fees and will not listen because apparently this is in their terms & conditions! This should have been made clearer to us when we tried to save money, at no point over the telephone was I made aware of these terms & conditions I just trusted that they would give me a good service. We found a much cheaper deal with Sky at the time, but we decided to stay loyal to Virgin and now they are treating us like this :(
