Complaint against Vodafone

I have been acustomer with Vodafone for 2years. My contract was ending in February, and so i called themin january to rrmind them to alter my payment plan to sim/line as i had already paid for the handset. To my surprise they now reckon that i agreed to a ONE year new contract ( sim only). I have tried to reason with them that wasn't the caseand probaly it was a miscommunication . So they say that i have to pay £179 to end the contract or stay for another year .
