EE will not take information from me concerning my elderly father's landline not working.

Complaint against EE

My 85 year old, rather deaf, father asked me to help him by contacting EE to inform them that his landline and broadband are not working. He informed me that other people in his street also had no landline service. My father cannot hear properly using a mobile phone and so does not use one. He lives alone. When I got through to EE, I was asked to give his telephone number twice, but then I was told that they could not test the line without my father's permission. I asked for the line manager, who told me it was impossible for them to do anything without my father adding myself to his account, but that he could not do this as he has no service.
