Judy's complaint against TalkTalk

[RESPONDED] Talk Talk won't let me talk

Complaint against TalkTalk

Last November an engineer came to switch my telecommunications from Virgin to TalkTalk . I had been misinformed by their sales staff, and was given a new landline no., which I didn't want. Since this visit my upstairs landline has never worked. I rang to cancel the switch, but was persuaded to rebook, with the promise of another visit on Dec. 15th, and a guarantee tokeep my existing landline number. I was also informed I would need a TV aerial. I had this fitted for £145, lost out£20 on my Virgin landline, and on 15th Dec. found I had been misinformed a second time, and couldn't keep my landline number.I declined the switch. An unsatisfactory offer has been made.

Hi Mark. We have noticed that you are redirecting Judy to the TalkTalk community. She has clearly stated that she has already tried this option, but not received a satisfactory solution. She has come to A Spokesman Said to fix this issue, and we encourage TalkTalk to engage with her directly on our platform. We are registered with the ICO, and have undergone rigorous security testing, so any details she needs to provide can be shared in a private message. Good luck resolving Judy's complaint.

Hi, Im really sorry to hear about your epxerience. It sounds like an extension socket hasn't been reconnected upstairs after the installation. Can you pop over to the TalkTalk Community (http://community.talktalk.co.uk) and we can take a look into it properly. We'd love to get to the bottom of it and try to get this resolved for you. Cheers Mark Online Community Executive TalkTalk

I have been to TalkTalk Community as you suggested, but cannot see how this can help my situation. I would like someone to come and fix my upstairs extension socket. I have discussed this at length with TalkTalk representatives but have been told they will not help me as I am not a customer, despite one of your engineers causing the fault. I would also like to be compensated for the £145 I spent after being misinformed by TalkTalk, and the £20 for extra fees i incurred from Virgin for the delay.

Hi Judy, The TalkTalk Community is staffed by a team of very experienced (in most cases 8+ years) TalkTalk Staff. The Team can look into the issue for you and provide you with support in getting this issue resolved. The staff on the TT Community can discuss with you what options we have to send an engineer to fix the extension if necessary. Cheers Mark Online Community Executive

The TalkTalk community have been of no help as it is not very user friendly. You have already identified the issue but will not send an engineer to repair it and have still not addressed me being reimbursed for the £165 that I am out of pocket. I will be referring this to the ombudsman.
