Complaint against Thomas Cook

i booked a holiday for me and my partner on feb 6th 2015 for march 20th to sharm el sheikh i always leave it late to book as my 2 sons have a terminal illness, unfortunatley my son passed away on march 6th with the funeral on march 20th, i rang thomas cook to see if they would change my holiday or arrange some alternative i was informed to contact my insurance as it was within 14 weeks of departure and nothing they could do and that it was within the terms & conditions, then informed that i could find my own way to the hotel after funeral if i wanted
