We fought for a year for our grandchildren to not be adopted...we won and treated them to a butlins holiday last year which we all enjoyed. We decided to go again this year July 18th but on the very day of us leaving for our holiday i had an heart attack and spent four days in hospital and had three "stents" fitted. I and other family members got in touch with butlins to ask for a refund,part refund or free food if we visit next year, hoping they would be compassionate and understanding. My relative was told "sorry we cannot do anything ...if it happened two weeks earlier then maybe" ...i was shocked...i didn't want it to happen two weeks earlier i didn't want it to happen at all. I received an e-mail from butlins stating "we cannot do anything as you didn't take out insurance" I just thought a big family orientated company like butlins would be compassionate ...but i was wrong. My granddaughter said "granddad when you are well can we go on holiday" i didn't want to tell her we have lost all our holiday money" but i will also need more test and our holiday will have to wait now until next year. Friends say "don't worry about it,don't get stressed butlins kept your money but you kept your life"
