Barbara Jameson: 1/5 Stars 06/06/2019 Serious injury on outward flight to Venice. Last October my daughter and I were flying to Venice for a short break which for me was much needed after several difficult years and the death of my mother.Shortly into the flight I was given a cup of coffee which was extremely hot,much hotter than airlines are supposed to serve.I did not realise that the top was not securely attached and as I lifted it the coffee poured out over my upper thigh and groin. I spent the flight with enormous blisters on my leg and soaked in blood and hot coffee. Apart from throwing me a small antiseptic wipe which was of no help the cabin crew offered no other help at all. On returning to the UK I paid 4 visits to hospital and GP for treatment.I am still scarred but the worst thing apart from the pain was thatI bled and blistered all through our short stay. Since I sent copies of my medical treatment to Jet2 they have refused to accept any responsibility for my injuries.Infact they have accused me of causing them myself,whilst not providing any evidence to the contrary. I have been passed back and forth between individual personnel at Jet2 for months. The last email yesterday was telling me that as far as they are concerned case is closed and they have nothing more to discuss. I have asked for information equivalent to Freedom of Information and I have been told that I have to"send a cheque" for this privilege!Although the writer doesnt seem to mention how much.Like many people now I have no cheque book.This appears to be another tactic to discourage people to abandon their rightful claims. What should have been a therapeutic break for me and my daughter was spoiled. Thankyou. jet2.com has not yet responded. Rachel Linacre: 1/5 Stars 18/09/2019 Why buy Travel Insurance when they don’t want to pay out! As you progress through Jet 2s on line booking it urges you to buy travel insurance but the sad truth is that if you need to claim they will try everything in their power not to pay out. I booked a holiday for myself and my then 14 year old daughter in August last year. A few months later she started having abscence seizures but I was reassured that these are common in adolescence and that they should stop. To cut a very long story short she was finally diagnosed on 4th July this year with Non Epileptic Drop Disorder which has become so bad that she just drops to the floor on a good day 4-5 times but on a bad day sometimes into the 100s. It has been an incredibly stressful time for both of us and after having paid for my holiday in full I realised on that date that there was no cure and no medication to make it better so decided to cancel our holiday because through no fault of her own she has become a danger to both herself and others. I cancelled the holiday on 4th August and received a small refund from Jet2holidays and was advised I needed to claim the rest from the brokers since then I have completed all their paperwork and made an official complaint and am now waiting to be able to take our case to the FOS as they are refusing to accept my claim because the doctor didn’t advise cancellation but as I pointed out it wasn’t the doctor who would have to look after her alone in a foreign country. The doctor was happy to endorse my decision however and completed the medical certificate also they are claiming that I should have notified them sooner of her condition but with no firm diagnosis until 4th July I was still hoping it would be something a pill would fix because trust me after the year we have had I would have loved to be able to chill out in the sun for 2 weeks As I have now had to give up work to care for my daughter this money would be a big help. Is there anything else that I can do to help them to change their decision apart from waiting another 4 weeks before I can contact the FOS? jet2.com has not yet responded. Julie Robertshaw: 1/5 Stars 04/10/2016 Well overpriced All Inclusive package holiday We recently stayed at The Panareti Paphos Resort in Cyprus on an all inclusive package which was absolutely terrible. It boasts an A La Carte restaurant, the food was very disappointing that after the first evening meal on arrival we were faced with just one choice of potato, one choice of meat dish, boiled rice, mixed veg and a pasta dish all served up in just five food warmers, a small plate of mixed salad, not what you expect from a buffet style A La Carte menu, breakfast faired not better with milk that had gone off as it was just put on a table in a warm un-air-conditioned restaurant with no cool plate or fridge to keep it cool, so we left without having any breakfast and didn't bother for the rest of the week, nor did we bother with evening meals thereafter, lunch was no better although we did have chips a few of the days with our bought in sandwiches. We had to eat out each night and buy breakfast and lunch each day too. There was only a 3-4 people who ever ate in the restaurant which tells you something is not right. There was no afternoon teas and nothing in the evening again as advertised. We did try to get a snack one afternoon but having ordered a toastie it never arrived. As for the apartment advertised as modern and comfortable, this had to be a joke. It was very dated with a kitchenette with a 2 ring hob (not 4 as advertised), we didn't dare use them as when the electric was switched on it hissed and buzzed so we turned it off immediately, there was no light in the light fitting. The sofa was a hard sofa bed covered with a blanket and one of the chairs had a spring hanging down underneath. The air-conditioning only worked when it felt like it and made loud whistling noises during the night when it was trying to work. This complex should only be advertised as a self catering accommodation as it clearly cannot compete with other hotels on a B&B, half board, full board or all inclusive basis. Although the swimming pool was nice and clean the sun beds around the pool were in a very poor state, of the 30 or so sunbeds over half were split or broken completely. We feel we should be compensated for the lack of service which we paid for but never received. It just felt like they did everything as cheap as the could get away with but not at a cheap price to the customer. NOT a 3 star accommodation. jet2.com has not yet responded. Brett Bain: 1/5 Stars 10/01/2016 Delayed hi we got a flight to Lanzarote witch should of took 4 hours . we then got on the plane to be told they mist there air slot then when we were ready to take off they then told us we did not have enough fuel on board because it was to windy. then we mist time slot again so had to wait even longer so when we did take off we had to go to portugl first to fuel up then when we got there we had to wait for another air time slot . we eventually got to take off we landed in Lanzarote about 8 and half hours later witch ment we mist out on a full day of our holiday jet2.com has not yet responded.
