Complaint against British Airways
We are due to fly to Italy in May on passports which expire in July. Direct Gov states thieve is no expiry limitation, BA and IATA disagree and state it is travellers responsibility to check wth Consulate which we did. We now have an email confirming our passports only need to be valid for our stay in Italy. We go round and round with BA customer services in India and UK. “We are not trained in that” “you need 3 to 6 months unexpired” “it will be ok if you have the letter”. Emergency passports are expensive and we will need time off which which may be unnecessary if the Italian Government and British Government understand the rules on British Citizens travelling to Italy. We have asked BA to clarify this simple issue but have had no response to our emails. We cannot be refused our flights when we arrive at the airport with the rest of our family group. Can somebody help? Are the passports valid or nor?
