I have submitted a claim under EC 261/2004. At Sofia airport information regarding the delay was not well communicated. Several passengers found the information on Easy Jet's website. The reasons given (which were subsequently confirmed by the Captain the next day) were:- 1. Minor technical fault which meant that the plane couldn't get through 2. Turbulence at 8000 feet over Sofia Airport. By the time the computer fault was fixed... 3. The crew were over their legal working hours limit. Easy Jet have refused my claim on the grounds that the cause of the delay was "wind shear" which is an "extraordinary circumstance". This is a lie. Other aircraft were landing & taking off quite normally so the real reason for the initial delay was the computer fault (which made navigation and steering difficult) and the second reason was that the crew were then no longer allowed to work that day. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
