Complaint against Expedia
I booked a flight/hotel/car with Expedia for a trip back in October of 2017 and tried to cancel it within 36 hours instead of the 24 hour window I was given. So, I accepted that I had a credit with two airlines (American and Alaskan). I was able to get a refund for the car and the hotel so that was good, however, when I went to book a flight using American for a trip from Sacramento to Phoenix in February 2018, I called Expedia thinking I would pay practically nothing for this trip, considering the credit I was due. Wrong. A trip that should have cost me $150 with the credit ended up costing $600. The customer service person said that American tacked on a penalty of $200, making the whole refund moot. I passed livid about an hour ago, and now I'm practically apoplectic. . .
