Complaint against National Holidays
Two passengers missed the coach at the station in Hull. I joined the coach at Hessle at 9.50am and the coach continued its journey to Goole were our driver was instructed to wait for those two missing passengers who were on their way in a taxi to join us. They didn't arrive at Goole so after waiting some time we continued to Leeds. There once again the driver was instructed to wait again for these missing passengers. It is assumed that National Holidays paid for their taxi. By now people on the coach were getting very irate. The driver was sympathetic but despite several phone calls to his company and National Holidays to carry on our journey he was told to stay and wait at Leeds. Many of the passengers were furious. We could not understand why 2 late people were given preferential treatment before considering the 48 people who had arrived on time. We lost approximately 2 hours of our holiday time and the atmosphere on the coach had changed from happy and friendly to anger and frustration at the two latecomers. Had the holiday been longer then perhaps the other passengers would not have minded but for two days we were all disappointed and were angry at the company's decision. I have had many excellent holidays with National Holidays but this one has really made a difference. Why did the company pamper to two latecomers and pay for a taxi, which would be quite expensive to cover the distance, and ignore the repeated requests by the remaining 48 passengers?
