Your Virgin Holidays Reviews
Abbie Lilley: 1/5 Stars 23/03/2019 Disappointed My partner and I had booked to go to Jamaica in October 2019 to stay at a Sandals Resort in Ocho Rios so as you can imagine a very expensive holiday. We were really looking forward to it. We had nearly paid off to outstanding balance then received an email which stated ‘’Your flight has been cancelled and this will effect your holiday plans. You have two options.. 1-loose one night and gain £100 refund. 2-gain 2 extra nights and pay us £780 more. I phoned them twice trying to talk about alternatives or just to cancel. In the end we cancelled because they said they can’t cover the cost even though they are at fault. Every time I phoned, I was put on hold, no apology or explanation. We have been into store where we booked it and they kept sending us away saying there’s nothing they can do. They were quick enough to take our money yet can’t deal with their consequences! We felt like we’d been conned. After a few weeks of stress we finally got ALL of our money back, after having to prove the exact amount we were owed! I just feel like it was handled very poorly by virgin over all and I never write bad reviews but we are so disappointed. Virgin Holidays has not yet responded. Ian Rogers: 1/5 Stars 09/06/2018 Mis-sold our dream We booked our trip to Cuba with Virgin holidays we had done all the research what hotels we wanted they took the booking, we paid the balance but noticed that it said two suites we asked about this why would we want two suites it was our 40th wedding anniversary. Told don't you have the email conformation saying all is arranged as per your requirements we have spoken to resort and all is booked. Month a so before flying out we was told we would need to pay an extra £440 to the resort for our room. I got Virgin to pay this as quite frankly we had paid enough. We arrived at the resort to be given a standard suite we explained to the resort manager showed him the email conformation saying that all booked and not to worry, he told us that nobody had contacted them as these suites had been out of use since October and this was the end of March. I have emailed the MD twice lost count of e-mails send and trying to contact them directly by phone is a total waste of time. We still haven't got the money they over charged us back. What is our next step. Virgin Holidays has not yet responded. READ MORE: Shopping Guides & Tips | How to Avoid Scams & Online Shopping Problems |

Andrew Dawson: 1/5 Stars 26/01/2018 Another 1 star! This seems like a common situation to others travelers, our flights have been changed and we have only being notified AFTER Virgin Holidays have taken our final balance payment, no communication beforehand at all. Re-visited the Trafford center store where changes were blamed on Virgin Atlantic. Whilst I appreciate the need to change aircraft for maintenance I'm really annoyed at the lack of communication. We'd booked Premium Economy seats and amended our holiday dates to fit in with direct flights as my wife has a bad back so needs plenty of legroom and room to move in the cabin, the option after the amendments from Virgin Atlantic was economy seats with a stop-over in Atlanta - take it or leave it!! We've decided to cancel but we're now left with 3 weeks holiday booked at work and having to start from scratch on finding something else suitable. Even when we cancelled Virgin tried to take a cancellation charge even though we'd been promised a full refund!! Another few days and another few phone calls and we eventually got the full amount back but if Virgin are using this policy on everyone has everyone got the full refunds they're due? and how much is Virgin raking in in interest?? Really disappointing about the lack of customer care for a company perceived as offering "Rockstar Service" and although I've been on a number of Virgin / Virgin Ski holidays before I won't consider booking with them again. Carl Hunter: 1/5 Stars 14/11/2017 COMPLAINT OUTSTANDING FROM 19TH SEP 2017 CAS-36545-S7Z3Z0 , booking ref: 4808734 CRM:0193960 Dear Virgin Holidays, I would like to make a complaint in regard to the service with yourself We arrived in Florida on 28th Aug 2017 and headed to the Villa you supplied us, it was not what I expected really as we had to make a complaint to the Virgin Rep and Contempo the follow day We said that all the blinds at the villa was broken, some plugs were coming off the wall or broken, the oven door would not fully close and the fridge was dirty also the filter in the fridge for the water needed changing as was flashing to change it and last of all the netting around the pool was broken so a lot of insects around the pool area We were told to leave the keys in the box outside and we left them for two days but nothing was resolved so we called the office again to ask when they were coming out, they advised on the call they would log this and get someone out in the next 24/48 hours, we said we have already complained about this so it should be logged. said would chase this up for up Someone come 4 days later, they said they had looked at the fridge but nothing was done as the light was still flashing saying change filter, said that the oven needed a new spring that’s why it would not close and the blinds was not resolved as all broken or missing so sunlight come in first thing in the morning We also paid extra to have a day in Miami but as we had to leave Florida early we could not go on this trip and I understand that’s it’s not your fault and we were told we would get a refund but still to this day (19th September 2017) its not come back into my bank As the hurricane was coming toward Florida we tried to contact Virgin Holidays this was by phone, email and social media, we even got our family and friends in the UK to try and ring as we were not getting anywhere for two days every time we called was on hold and then the call would disconnect, We went to see the rep as we was not getting anywhere with calling you or social media as I could see you was only replying to people who had a holidays in the future no reply to people who was stuck in Florida, This was very scary for people who was they Just really upset with the amount paid for this holiday and had to cut the holiday short and dint even get to visit all the theme parks, As I am a foster carer I only had one option and that was to leave early because of the child. Su Herring: 1/5 Stars 11/07/2017 Really disappointed with Virgin Customer Service We are really disappointed with the Customer Service we've received from Virgin in regard to complaints from our recent holiday to Orlando. We booked all aspects of our holiday through Virgin including flights, villa accommodation, park tickets and car. Our holiday party consisted of two OAP's, two adults and two young children (age 2 and 4). This was a big holiday for us, and we had been saving for nearly 3 years to be able to go. In summary, our complaints were: Alamo Car Hire (preferred supplier of Virgin) tried to tell us we'd booked a vehicle too small for our needs and tried to push a larger vehicle upon us with additional charges that we didn't need. It was only after we insisted we see the vehicle that we'd booked that she conceded it might be large enough, and it was. As it was late by the time we'd cleared customs and been delayed by the attempted up-sell of the hire car, it was dark when we left with the hire car. In the morning we saw several dents and scrapes on the vehicle and were worried as a walk-around hadn't been carried out by Alamo. We had to contact Alamo to complain. The kitchen was under-equipped. It was a self-catering holiday but we were limited with what we could cook. Both my 2 year old daughter and elderly mother-in-law slipped in the showers. No bath mats were provided. This was hazardous and Virgin have tried to absolve themselves of any responsibility by saying the villa owners are under no obligation to provide basic safety devices. My daughter was in tears every time we showered her afterwards, and there were no baths in the property. Virgin's response was 'All of the homes are privately owned and as such their furnishings, facilities and décor can vary. There is no obligation on homeowners to provide bath mats and I’m sorry that your mother in law slipped whilst using it and you found the kitchen facilities lacking.' When they could've both been seriously injured I find this response inadequate. One of the showers was missing a shower screen which meant it couldn't be used. A note was left saying it would be replaced but it wasn't. The air conditioning wasn't working correctly upon our arrival (although once reported an engineer was sent out and it was fixed). Virgin's Customer Service response was very much along the lines that the issues aren't their problem as they use third party providers. However, they are the providers of the holiday and we booked through them. Although each of our issues on their own may not be terribly significant, when culminated together they negatively affected what should have been an amazing holiday. In terms of any form of compensation, all we have been offered is £50 from Alamo for the issues with the car hire (which we have yet to receive) and absolutely nothing from Virgin themselves. When you spend over £7500 on a holiday and it isn't up to standard you expect a bit more than nothing from your holiday provider. We are so disappointed with Virgin . The Customer Service throughout the initial holiday booking was excellent, but the after-holiday Customer Service has left a very bitter taste in our mouths and definitely changed our overall perception of Virgin Holidays.
