Your 247 Home Rescue Reviews
Victoria Walsh: 5/5 Stars 04/12/2018 Much cheaper than my previous provider!! I recently moved my breakdown cover policy over from BG after receiving a huge renewal from them on 20 of my properties. Already had 4 of my boilers serviced, the engineers are very professional, and did a really great job!! Andrew Porritt: 1/5 Stars 05/12/2018 No Confidence in this company. I signed up for 247 Home Rescue to cover our boiler in Sept/Aug 2018. We had to make a claim 23/10/2018 when we found our boiler was leaking, losing pressure, and breaking down. We paid the £95 excess fee and the engineer attended 25/10/2018. During the visit, we advised the engineer of the leak, water pressure, and breakdown issues. We also pointed out the leaking filling loop. The engineer stated that the loop leak was nothing to worry about and stated that the water pressure drop would not be linked to the boiler breaking down. I raised that point multiple times with the engineer, but they were adamant that the drop in pressure was not to blame. The engineer inspected the boiler, stated that no issued was found, checked the bathroom for a length of time, re-pressurized the boiler and left. The issue re-occurred 3/12/2018 so I again contacted 247 Home Rescue to book an engineer to address the issue that was not corrected 25/10/2018. They stated that a £95 excess fee would be required again. This is something that I was understandably reticent to pay as the visit would be to correct an issue outstanding from the last claim. I advised the agent that I would be making alternative arrangements. I raised a complaint the same day, and received a "cut and paste" response that addressed none of the points that I'd raised. I responded to their e-mail advising of this and haven't heard back. In the mean-time we contacted a local engineer who thankfully was able to attend the same day (4/12/2018). They confirmed our suspicions that the filling loop could likely be the source of the breakdowns and replaced it. They also replaced an internal valves (flow and return) in the boiler, and as an extra precaution added some sealant around the loop. The total cost of this was £64. It would have been circa £40 without the additional seal treatment. Of the work undertaken yesterday, literally none of this was uncovered or addressed by the engineer who attended on behalf of 247 Home rescue. Nor have 247 home rescue answered my queries as to why this is the case. Had our experience with 247 Home Rescue been isolated to the poor engineer visit, I would have reservations in raising a complaint. However the companies policy of demanding excess fees regardless whether work has actually been successfully completed, coupled with their non existent complaints/customer service leaves me with no choice. 247 Home Rescue has not yet responded. Caihong Li: 1/5 Stars 07/12/2018 Poor service left me with no heating, no hot water for 11 days, and then cancel my membership I have never experienced such poor service from any company. On the 27th Nov, an engineer came to do annual check. He found that there is one of the flue blanking missing. I have been using th boiler for 4 years and it has been checked by British Gas and Homeserve for the past few years, never had any problems. He said he needed to switch off the boiler, but the problem could be fixed the next day. Then I received an email from the company the next day (28th Nov) saying the part will not arrive by the 3rd Dec. I was told the part would cost £125 plus VAT. Nobody contacted me until the 4th Dec telling me it would be another 2 or 3 days. By now, I have been living in the house with no heating, no hot for nearly 10 days. I then found out that I could easily order the part online at the price of £2.26 for next day delivery. I send more than 20 emails asking if I could order it myself and they come to fix the boiler. Not until 4.20pm on the 6th Dec I was asked to order the part myself and they will send engineer out on the 7th. I placed the order immediately. The engineer arrived at 4pm on the 7th, but the part has not been delivered. Having not had heating and hot water for 10 days, you can imagine how desperate I was. I insisted the engineer stay until the part arrived. The engineer contacted the office telling them that I locked him in. The office then called me and telling me to let the engineer go and threatened to call the police. All I wanted at the time was to have the boiler back on that evening (the 7th Dec was a very cold day) and I have a pregnant woman in the house. When I found out the part was likely to arrive at 6pm, the engineer and I made an agreement that he would come first thing in the morning to fix it. After the engineer left, I was shocked to receive a call from 247 rescue that they cancelled my membership and would not attend any service. I cannot believe what's happening here. I have been paying them every month and all they did was to switch off my perfectly working boiler and leave me, my daughter and a pregnant woman with no heating, no hot water for 10 days. When the part arrives, they are gone. I have just arranged for someone else to come tomorrow to fix it at the cost of another £88.00. If I was in poor health or old age, I could have been frozen to death. 247 Home Rescue has not yet responded. Daniel Callaghan: 1/5 Stars 29/01/2019 Awful, avoid Awful experience. Boiler broke down, called what thought was 24 hour helpline - see prominent info on website and leaflets - only to find that appliance line only open from 10.00am. Then engineer could not come out for 2 days and then, after paying £75, it is an all day slot so my wife had to wait in from morning, that was Friday. Engineer said part needed replacing, had to order part. After hearing nothing by Monday, rang company. Someone to call back but didn't. Rang today to be told that cost of repair - £194.22 was not given the go ahead as boiler was too old, I would need to pay amount, although they highlight no cost for parts and labour on website etc. Adviser said in was in T&C and not their fault if I didn't read them. Basically tough luck Mr Customer, thanks for your money. Cancelled contract. 247 Home Rescue has not yet responded. Bernie Dawson: 1/5 Stars 03/02/2019 Terrible service following misold policy The company refuse to engage in my complaint for a missold car breakdown policy. I have never received any policy document, renewal notice in any format related to this. I thought the second monthly direct debit was related to my boiler service plan. When I complained that the company had increased both direct debits without prior notification (outside of the T&C's of the contract), I was informed the second direct debit was for car breakdown. I purchased my car from new registration, it is only 2 years old and includes car breakdown; I have not agreed to a second and unnecessary policy? I have no record of this policy and the company inform me that my complaint is closed. I have emailed to ask for their appeals/escalation policy but no response. Terrible company and service that is not registered with any financial conduct authority. This is the same principle as PPI scandal. 247 Home Rescue has not yet responded.
