Your Belling Reviews
Amy Duffy: 1/5 Stars 16/03/2019 Exploding oven door So I went to open my oven door on my electric Belling appliance last Monday to check my dinner and what happened next could have been detrimental to me had I not been quick to react. As I used the handle to open the oven door(as anyone would), the outer layer of glass combusted and what I can only describe as ‘exploded’ outwards across the kitchen. At first we thought it had been an explosion from the oven itself but that was still on! The door just spontaneously combusted. I have video evidence of the aftermath on my phone but I can’t upload it here for some reason? Still finding bits of glass in my wall and floor five days later. Normally I bend down to check the food as I open the oven but i was on speakerphone to my friend at the time and for some reason I stayed upright as I opened the oven. You can imagine what may have happened or where the glass could have landed had I been bent over. I love belling appliances but I am being told by family and friends and also salespeople in the local electrical appliance shop that this is NOT okay for an appliance to do, especially as it had been fully intact previous to this incident. Belling has not yet responded. Chloe Dent: 1/5 Stars 30/01/2018 Hot hobs I have just called to replace my nobs on the front of the cooker because they have got so hot they have broken to be told they are over 100 pound this is absolutely appalling, the cooker shouldn’t be getting that hot you can not turn the hobs off without a towel or oven gloves because they burn your fingers. I think that the money is way to expensive for you to have to replace them again in a couple of years time, they get that hot that they have even burnt my baby’s foot as I turned to go and get her a bottle Belling has not yet responded. Abigail Hodson: 1/5 Stars 07/01/2017 Customer Service - non existent My parents ordered a Belling gas cooker which arrived at the end of November with a faulty part, a man came from Belling on the 30 November to look at the cooker and said the bezel on the gas ring switch was faulty and that the cooker could not be connected. He ordered a replacement. On the 13 December my Dad phoned Belling to ask where the replacement part was and after a lot of being put on hold they said they had re-ordered the parts. On the 19 December 2 switches arrived but no bezel. I phoned on the morning of 20 December to see why the incorrect parts had been sent, the person I spoke to said she would ring back, I phoned back at 4.30 to chase them up, the person I spoke to was quite rude and said it was nearly Christmas and there wasn't a lot they would be able to do as it was a skeleton staff. I phoned again on 21 December at lunchtime and was told that the replacement part had been despatched that morning. On 23 December a bezel arrived for the oven not the hob so I phoned again at 3pm on the 23 December, I asked to speak to a manager to be told it was a skeleton staff and there was only one manager on and they didn't know where he was. I told them I wanted to speak to a manager and they said he would ring me shortly. I phoned again at 3.40 to be told it had only been 40 minutes and it was nearly Christmas. A manager did ring me back shortly after that phone call and I had to go through the whole story again to be told they could have had the cooker connected up and the bezel was only cosmetic. I said it was a Belling person who had told my parents they couldn't use it and the manager said maybe it was because of their age (they're both in their 80s) In the end he said he would sort the correct part out after Christmas on a 24hr delivery. When the manager phoned on 28th December they said they were looking for. The correct part was despatched on 29th December and arrived on 30th December. In total to get the correct part it took 1 month which is totally unacceptable. The manager said he would ring back after New Year to check the correct part had been despatched and to sort a good will gesture. Needless to say I have not had any phone calls off Belling so basically the manager lied just to shut me up. Their customer service is horrendous and the staff are rude. Would never ever use them again. Belling has not yet responded. Marti Bardsley: 1/5 Stars 20/02/2017 Unreliable oven. Unreliable repair service. Bought my Belling double oven (built under) a year ago as part of a complete new kitchen. In less than 2 months the oven failed - it took 3 weeks (!) for an engineer to be available to look at it. Yesterday, the oven broke again (and like before, both ovens are inoperable) ... customer services say it will be 10 days before an engineer is available. Apparantly my oven keeps breaking down at peak times (naughty oven!) No-one seems to care that I can't cook for my family in this period. It is just not acceptabe from a company like Belling. I spent a lot of money on this unit and really wish I hadn't. Not only is the unit unreliable, so is the company! Seriously unhappy. Belling has not yet responded. Kenneth Napier: 1/5 Stars 29/01/2018 Belling would not help I bought a duck-egg blue double oven from Belling, designed by Conran. Though I complained within the warranty period they did nothing. Basically, the oven has a design flaw that shows burn marks under the dials... I tried cleaning them, but this only wiped off the temperature markings! Now it has started blowing hot steam horizontally into the room by about 1.5 feet!! I only just stopped my sister from being scalded by it. I want to know what Belling will do about it, It cost me twice what I usually pay for an oven, but it looks now like something in a hovel!! If Conran designed it, it is a bad design.
