Tom Alan: 1/5 Stars 23/11/2018 The trade-in and sale prices and how they've become extremely inadequate and unfair I've been a frequent and loyal customer to cex for several years now. When I first started using cex to trade and buy all kinds of items, I was very happy and contented with the trading rates and the sale prices of cex. However, over the past few years, I have noticed a gradual change in this good and fair customer consideration. The sale prices have increased extremely, some things have doubled, and even tripled in price over time. Not only this, the very fair trading rates of cex have become so unbelievably unfair, that they're even almost like a joke. I recently searched the cex website for a certain DVD, a film that has been around since 2009... Cex is currently selling it for £2.50, although their current exchange rates for it are 30 pence in cash, or 40 pence in cex trade credit. I am sorry to have to say this, but I and many, many others believe that this is an outrage and almost a mockery of good loyal customers, on cex's behalf. Even just a couple of years ago, the trade rates would've been no less than half of the price that they were selling the item for. Although their variety of items is as good and strong as it has always been since I've known of cex, the sale prices and the trade and exchange rates, over the last several years, has unfortunately become, very very bad and unfair. Some would blame this on the rarity of the items increasing, or just the general economy and business rates, taking their toll etc...but even considering 'reasons' like this, there is still no acceptable explanation for how much the trade rates and sale prices have changed in favour of cex's profit. Ultimately, I feel let down and disappointed. I still use my local cex store to trade and buy items, but not half as much as I used to, thanks to this issue. I hope that they soon realise their mistake, and that this tactic for profit will soon lose them so much business and customer loyalty, that it was not worth doing...and also that it was within their recently demolished fair trade and sale rates, that people found them the true centre of entertainment exchange. CeX has not yet responded. Lucas Benson: 1/5 Stars 08/09/2019 cex haveing a go at me for bringing back broken good they sold me cex staff had a go at me saying. "you NEED TO STOP BRING BACK BROKEN GOOD" even tho they sold it to me broken i did not know this untill i got home things that i got from them that was broke are. ps4 controller. broken triggers smartphone (iphone se) battery died in matter of hours and a watch that they said was brand new but was missing parts and box was one of there own boxes. I dont recomend buying a game from them due to them printing fake copys off and still selling it to you for the same price so dont buy anything from cex due to them been so rude with me It the way she spoke close to my face and shouting out loude makeing me feel uncomfdable (sorry for my spelling) and a bit sad and i cant return a brooken proudut to them now so yeah i hope they see this and read it do i recomend them NO I DONT AT ALL CeX has not yet responded. Gillian Harris: 1/5 Stars 01/01/2018 Faulty tablet My son bought a tablet in CEX in Portsmouth on 17th December 2017.it has a 6month guarantee. The tablet is now not charging at all.it is not a charger fault as 4 compatable chargers have been tried.under no circumstances can either my son or myself get to the Portsmouth shop.the nearest is either Fareham or Gosport.I want the item changed to one of the same value that actually works I am less than impressed with this we have the receipt with all relevant information on CeX has not yet responded. I have read some really great reviews on here regarding CEX and I know some of their staff are excellent also but my experience has been abysmal! All I wanted to do was to buy a certain lens from a particular branch, there were only 2 items of this kind in the UK so how hard could this have been to arrange via online. I have in the past ordered a lens from CEX and it arrived faulty and un-boxed (nothing mentioned in the description what so ever) so once bitten twice shy as they say. So in future unless it was a boxed item I was not interested. So I sent 4 emails initially via the CEX online Support portal to which I received absolutely no reply, so ever the optimist I decided to place the order hoping that my emails had been noted and that when the order was placed they would choose the correct lens from the correct store. But, this is where I assumed incorrectly as the then told me that they were going to send me the lens from the incorrect store at which point I asked surely you could just change the store from which it has been sent seeing as there is only 2 in the whole country, the response after nearly 2 hours was no I basically had to have that one, amazing that no longer does the buyer of an item have the right to chose which product he receives even after he has paid!! So, to cut an already rather long story short at this point in time I have no lens, no money, and no responses to my emails letting me know whats happening to my refund or anything?? All I wanted to do was buy a lens and still do as they CEX vouchers I paid with ...... simple really but with CEX apparently not!! CeX has not yet responded. This is the 4th time I have had to complain about CEX,I'm stupid to keep going back to the place.i have a very disappointed boy yet again! 1st complaint was because of missing cables for his wii u,second was missing game in the box,3rd complaint last week was a faulty phone and now been given the wrong cable for an Xbox so it won't fit in the console.i am totally sick and tired of it all now.tried ringing and you can't speak to anyone! Messaged on Facebook and no damn reply either! I can't go in store as my son ended up in a and e last night.all I want to do is speak to a human being not send messages and be ignored.
