Your CORGI HomePlan Reviews
NATALIE HUSTLER: 1/5 Stars 23/10/2019 No hot water or heating for a week Noticed a very slow leak from the bottom of my Valliant boiler on Friday 18/10/19 so called out a corgi engineer - He came the same day 3 hours after my call (Brilliant!) The engineer took the cover off the boiler to find the condensate had been leaking and was pooling over the gas pipe (acidic water) he said this was extremely dangerous due to the water potentially burning through the gas pipe and as the boiler was housed in a babies room he was declaring it out of service. He said the damage would mean a few parts would need replacing but it was a common fault with these boilers and was part of a technical bulletin with Valliant. The boiler had only been serviced 2 months previously and this damage looked to be older than that and should have been picked up then. He then phoned Corgi to explain the situation but due to his own bad hips & pain etc told them he couldn't do the work as the boiler was put in a cupboard and he also wasn't working at the weekend. After a lot of explanation and forms he left. This case has now been transferred to Valliant due to the parts needed and I have to wait a whole week to get another engineer out. I have to stress I have a 1 year old and 4 year old and the temperature is now very cold - ive had to buy an electric heater which is probably costing me a fortune in electricity and running a gas fire. Ive been classified as a vulnerable customer due to the children but they cannot speed things up any faster - they've not offered to provide me with heaters or compensation for the bills im going to incur on the electricity. The parts for this are not rare so I cannot understand why they couldn't get the parts locally and get another engineer to install? It will also need another inspection which could delay things even more. Ive had to bath the baby in the sink using hot water from the kettle! CORGI HomePlan has not yet responded. Ian Kenyon: 1/5 Stars 07/06/2018 AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE I had this boiler cover for 18 month's thinking it would give me peace of mind. It would take to long to describe what happened but basically the service was appalling, 11 days with no water and heating. The calibre of the engineer that did turn out was very poor as he was out of his depth, at the end I had to pay a third party to sort the boiler problem. CORGI HomePlan has not yet responded. Andy Barr: 1/5 Stars 17/02/2018 Stay clear of Corgi cowboys Stay well clear of this company.I have had two ceilings come down phoned them Friday morning told them it was a matter of urgancy took them until the Saturday to contact me guy comes out takes pics of it and said someone will phone me never heard anything for another 3hrs phoned them and they said they would call back they did a few hours later and said they couldn't help I live in an older type house it has rot iron piping in some bits the vents from waste stick out roof someone has modified a portion of it in the loft with a plastic pipe it hasn't leaked in the 18 years that I have lived here but is now because its 2 different fitting its not something they will fix.All the had to do was put a reducer in 4 inch pipe to accomodate the 2inch plastic pipe will cancel my cover that's a joke typical insurance anyway of getting out fixing it another bad thing is they don't have there own workers all sub contracted in that is why it took so long, cowboys back to homeserve for me CORGI HomePlan has not yet responded. Michael Sheehan: 1/5 Stars 15/05/2017 Refusal to deal with boiler breakdown I took a corgi homeplan insurance to cover my 94 year old mother in law's gas boiler last December which was accepted with her paying monthly direct debit instalments of £19.00 per month. All was well until last week when she phoned me (she lives 50miles away) to say she was cold and had no hot water as her boiler was'ent working. I phoned Corgi HomePlan who told me because of her age they would arrange a repair as soon as possible. Half an hour later they rang to inform me they would not do the repair as she was not covered! Apparently she has a back boiler and it was not covered. When I pointed out that on the Policy Schedule they issued it clearly states Back Boiler they just repeated it was not insured. Despite my pleadings they would do nothing. I am absolutely disgusted they could leave an old lady in this situation CORGI HomePlan has not yet responded.
