Your Go Skippy Reviews

My partner chose this insurance company as money wise it was the best one for him. Now on his insurance details when he has signed up for any insurance company comparisons; he has writ “self employed”. When signing up for GoSkippy there was a mistake and when they demanded a tax pay out/pay slip he was obviously confused as he knew he wasn’t employed but was in fact self employed. When HE realised what the issue was he said “I have told you guys I am Self Employed not Employed” this continued round in circles with no actual solution. Further on down the line, the “Brokers” have now “advised” goskippy to cancel his insurance in 7 days. Which even though, they say it is out of their hands it is an ADVICE, which they have decided to adhere by and cancel. Now he is going to get charged £75 for THEM to cancel and insurance he believed he was going to stay with. Not sure if GoSkippy have noticed but we are right in the middle of a pandemic. He can’t AFFORD them to mess him around like this but they show absolutely zero sympathy to his problems due to ONE error between “self-employed” and “employed”... Seems rather pathetic if you ask me. He was put on the phone to numerous different people before finally reaching his tether and asked for a manager which, they’re clearly lacking as there’s been no call back. Now when he went to look at other insurance companies, it appears he has been blacklisted for an error completely unintentionally made. All the other insurance companies have took away the option of month instalments and they’re all expecting 3-6k out of him. How is a 28 year old, trying to get back into work, trying to better himself and eventually fully start up his own company meant to get anywhere when being put into such an awful setback? Whilst you wouldn’t expect a small insurance company to put him into such a state of distress and unease at how the rest of his year will look if he is unable to get insurance he will simply end up having to sell his car off and will struggle to work. All because, and I say again, a small error that he had noticed and tried to amend. Disgusting and almost fraudulent behaviour from the company.

Stay Well Clear

😡😡😡DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY........ My mother in law took out a policy with myself as the named driver. There was a accident where i was not at fault but because the other lady would not accept liability they wanted me to claim on mine. I was not prepared to make the premium go up as the car was pretty much worthless so a new car was purchased. All documentation of the accident they asked for was provided by myself via email. For them to keep saying they had not received nothing even tho at one point a college of your company replied to say thank you and would pass on to the relevant team.... I still have all this proof plus recorded calls. Yet then to be told policy is being cancelled due to no communication (LOAD OF BULLSHIT). So over the past 3 wks i have been on the phone constantly trying to sort out what you have messed up to now be receiving letters to say £800 is owed for cancellation of the policy. WHEN YOUR THE ONES THAT CANCELLED IT..... GO SKIPPY..... People stay well clear and run 🏃‍♀️ for the hills. Avoid this company at all costs 😡😡😡😡😡

BEWARE - PLEASE READ

PLEASE READ — I had a collision in June this year (2018) and it was not my fault. I contacted GoSkippy/Eldon Insurance/Southern Rock and was finally told I would have to claim on my insurance while “investigations” were ongoing. I was not asked for my account of what happened, I was not asked to provide any evidence of the collision and how it happened - I was instead asked to pay the excess and claim on my insurance. I refused and complained about bot being asked to provide any evidence of my side of the story. Rather, “pay the excess and claim on your insurance”, was what I was told. My complaint was not upheld by GoSkippy, instead a sudden flurry of requests for information/evidence that should have been made in the first place now followed. A few weeks after filling in the forms and sending these back I got a call from a personal injury specialist from GoSkippy accusing me of being at fault. That’s right. My very own insurance company! GoSkippy!!! I calmly explained how the accident happened to her because it was evident she had not even read my case file. She said I should not have been waiting in the yellow box to turn right when the accident occurred. I explained to her I was not in a yellow box, and if I were, I would’ve been right to do so!! She stammered and stuttered when she realised she’d been caught out. She had one mission. To get me to accept whole or split liability over the phone. This lady proposed a 50/50 split liability resolution. I refused. I told her to put all her correspondence in writing. ALWAYS ASK FOR DETAILS IN WRITING AFTER SPEAKING TO ANY ORGANISATION ON THE PHONE. IF POSSIBLE DECLINE TO SPEAK, AND ASK FOR THE INFORMATION VIA EMAIL. The longer the paper trail the better. I got a letter back from this lady offering me 70/30 split in my favour. I still refused. She even threatened me with being saddled with court costs, but I don’t scare easily, especially when I know my rights, and know I am in the right. In her final response she stated I would have to wait for the police report before any progress could be made on who was to blame. Eventually my insurance with GoSkippy on my car lapsed; hence I had to get cover with another insurer. Would you believe that three days after taking cover with my new insurers I got a letter from them telling me that my previous insurers had changed the status of the accident on the CUE (Claims Underwriting Exchange) from ‘no fault’ to ‘my fault’. And they added a massive increase to the cost of my premiums. Of course, I complained. About a month after complaining the police sent over their report validating I was not at fault! I forwarded it to my current insurers . But this company is not like GoSkippy, they are not in it just for the money. They do exist to provide a service and they provided me with an email address to send all the evidence that proved I was not at fault for the accident. I sent them my no claims letter, police correspondence and the email from the dubious personal injury lady at GoSkippy. They immediately amended my policy and awarded me compensation. I have still not heard back from GoSkippy till date. I escalated the case to the Ombudsman but the last I heard is that they keep sending the Ombudsman information in the wrong format. It’s been 5 months (now October 2018) since the accident. I have since purchased a new car but the other sits in my driveway, unfit for driving due to the collision and a bleak reminder of the deliberate failure of GoSkippy to honour their side of a policy agreement I signed with them and paid for diligently over the course of a year. Avoid them. “Good at quotes”, Good at cheap prices” but If you pay for insurance and you don’t get insurance cover in the event of an accident that is not your fault- then -what are you paying for? Britain’s streets are becoming increasingly congested with crazy drivers, with bikers and cyclists eating up every last stretch of road. Every minute your chance of a no fault accident multiplies. AVOID GOSKIPPY. Watch this space for updates.

DO NOT USE GO SKIPPY CAR INSURANCE

I do not think they even deserve one star. Go Skippy's service is appalling, and I would advice you not to use them. I had an accident a year ago, and I have only receive half of my money. At this point, I do not think I am going to receive the rest of my money. They owe me three thousand pounds. There staff do not know what they are doing and are unresponsive most of the time. In addition, they keep you on hold for hours on end.

Cancelled Insurance

Car insurance threatening to be cancelled over address details they already have on file from my previous policy on another car! I have sent all other documents they requested but was asked repeatedly to send over again! I sent my photo card driving licence to confirm address but this was not accepted! I have since been ignored! Poor communication and rude!
