R Sewell: 1/5 Stars 08/01/2017 Dont buy Lidl Anchovies! Just opened a pot of Lidl anchovies to find more olive oil than anchovies. The product weight clearly includes the olive oil in which they are stored but it would have been nice if there had been some anchovies in the pot as well ! WON'T BUY THESE AGAIN! Lidl has not yet responded. Kelley Gilliam: 1/5 Stars 19/11/2018 DO NOT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD AT LIDL I used my debit card to make a purchase at my local Lidl store. I checked my bank account a few hours later and saw 2 charges of the same amount from Lidl. I called customer care immediately and was told that they will only submit one charge and the other will drop off. I checked my bank account 2 days later and saw BOTH charges went through. I called customer care back and was told that it will take 6 to 8 weeks for them to investigate and return my money. I liked the store but I feel this is bad business practices. Stephen Downie: 1/5 Stars 13/05/2019 Lidle refuse honor their 3 year warranty after only 1 year and 10 hours of use I bought a Lidl pressure washer last year. I have used the machine only a couple of times, approximatly 10 hours in all. When I went to use it this year it had a leak from within the casing. I contacted Lidl France sent a short video and photo of my receipt. After a couple of emails I spoke to them directly and was told to remove the outer casing and send another photo/video to show where the leak was. Having complied with this I received an email directing me to their website where I was instructed to purchase parts to repair it myself. I was also told that it was a part not covered under the warranty only the motor was covered. The warranty clearly states parts that are subject too wear were not covered, the examples given were the pistol, the brush, the motor carbons and the high pressure hose. They are refusing to budge. Please advise. Lidl has not yet responded. Cameron Otti: 1/5 Stars 18/06/2019 Verbally abused by employee Today I had a worst experience ever in my life. My son has Autism he only likes French baguette so I always get them from lidl on lewisham high street which is the only supermarket around his school that sells the crunchy French baguette. After school today, I went to buy his baguette when we got there the bread was in the oven so I called one of the employee his Name is h..... I kindly asked him if he can give me 4 baguettes . He said that there are too hot to be served I will have to wait 10 minutes before I can take them . He transferred the breads in to another place to cool down . To kill the time I went around buying stuff I didn't really needed like oil yogurt after 10 minutes i came back i've looked around for him he was nowhere to be found .so I served myself ,I paid for my shopping as I was walking towards my car hi..... ran after me called me stupid woman in front of my child he shouted at me he said why did you took the bread don't you know about health and safety? you want me to loose my job stupid woman next time I would called the police i just got mad I followed him inside the shop I asked who was the manager and me and hisham had an argument the police came over there said they can't do anything I can only report the matter to the customer service because he didn't physically attacked me. Now I know that a member of staff from lidl can verbally abused a customer and get away from it but I'm sure if I was the one abusing him I would have be charged by police . I went there to do my shopping not knowing that I was committing a crime form today I will never shop at lidl . Lidl has not yet responded. Robin Hewlett: 1/5 Stars 28/02/2018 Tronic batterys I have purchased tronic batterys from Lidl, which are AA Ni-MH batterys 12 in total. I needed to replace the batterys in my camera so I took one packet of 4 batterys out of the packet. I put them into my battery charger and charged them 3 times before I tested them. When I tested them only to find that they were dead on testing them with a battery tester indicated they were dead. These were about 12 months from purchase and I have had other brands with no problems charging them. I went to my local LIdl and explained what had happend trying to charge the batterys. Only to be told as I did not have a receipt for the batterys, I would have to contact headoffice. This I have done only to be told after 30days I would not have any warrenty and I would have to have to original receipt. To say I have been given the runaround would be an understatement. I would like to let other people not fall into the sameplace as me so dont buy any batterys from Lidl. Lidl has not yet responded.
