Amanda Fernandes 15/04/2021 For the last 10 weeks, I have tried to talk with Monese but no success. they do not answer the phone or email or even the chat. I need an original bank statement to send via post for my student finance; if this simple thing is impossible, a letter sends via post saying that I hold an account since 01/2018 till now and some signature and stamp would also be accepted, but instead after tried everything they sent me an email saying there's nothing they can do. Now I'm going to lose my last chance to go to university since, because of the new laws of Brexit, I can not do it after Jun/2021. I'm so disappointed and sad and feeling exhausted trying to speak with this horrible so-called bank. Christopher Howlett: 5/5 Stars 11/11/2017 If, like me, you have managed to screw your finances so dramatically that nobody wants to give you even the simplest of "proper" bank accounts, this is very likely the most useful app you will ever find for your smartphone. I've tried several other "challenger" banking apps as I have discovered they are known, but Monese has been by far the best so far. Opening an account is a little intense to be frank, and, in the UK at least, you DO require photo ID and proof of address despite the claims made in the Monese promotional material. Once you get set up however, it really couldn't be any simpler. An important detail for me is the speed at which payments arrive, and Monese updates twice an hour at 05 and 35. In my experience you can expect to see your funds on the second update after they were sent. Another key detail, most of these banks charge for cash machine withdrawals. Monese gives you five such transactions free of charge each month before adding a 50p fee for any subsequent withdrawals. A nice touch though, if you don't have enough money to cover the fee you will still be given the cash without charge - this might be a bug however it's been really useful for me up to now. The card does claim to allow cash back however in my experience this is not the case and only smaller stores who know me personally will allow me this facility. Finally, an excellent referral scheme gives you the chance to earn a decent bonus if your friends sign up to monese as well. Monese has not yet responded. Paulo Dias: 1/5 Stars 01/07/2019 Monese account closure Hello. I am having an issue with Monese Bank account. They've blocked my account and card last Friday (28/06/19) with a non reasonable explanation. I was just informed by email that the account is being closed. After several phone calls to their support line I couldn't get any more information. I have in that account +-£2680 which they said I have to provide them with another account details that I own so they will transfer my funds but I didn't get yet any confirmation of this. Also, After reading some reviews I found out that this issue is happening very often and I've read people stating that after 5 months they still didn't get their funds back. Gian Luca: 1/5 Stars 13/07/2018 Monese block my account and don t return my money over 50 days I made a mistake to put money in Monese and now they do not give me back any more money. They do not answer by email, all this with my money I do not know what will happen. online you read hundreds of cases like me and I start to fear for my savings. I proceeded to make a complaint with FCA and I hope it will intervene maybe by taking away the license. when the money of others is held, you must be serious and perhaps to Monese escapes that people with money live ! people with money eat ! people with money make plans ! at the moment without this money I no longer have a future.
