Martin Cursue: 1/5 Stars 10/02/2020 General incompetence I was gifted to them by Ofgem when Economy Energy went bust. They messed up my migration to their system. Ok, they were busy. But then they installed a smart meter and charged me for the new and the old meter. And you never get the same support member answering your query. A nightmare. Steer clear. Ovo Energy has not yet responded. Neil Carlisle: 1/5 Stars 18/01/2020 Worst energy company ever!!!! Things went swimmingly for up to 8 months until I decided to be pro- active and get a smart meter in..... the worst decision ever. Once the smart meter was installed went from credit every month to debit, I couldn’t understand this as I have a new A- rated boiler and new insulation plus can monitor what I am using through the hive app. Then I got threatening letters warning me I was spending more and the direct debit amount would have to be changed. After ignoring these letters and making overpayments instead the letters became more threatening now informing me that my direct debit amount would be changed automatically without my permission. They informed me as they buy the gas in advance the account needs to stay in credit. So now I pay double and have to make overpayments to heat a small 2 bedroom house for less than 8 hours a day. Paying £5-6 per day!!! AVOID this company at all costs, it might just be a coincidence but they are a now a top 6 company after buying SSE assets. Look elsewhere and don’t be enticed with their offers, the worst company I’ve had the misfortune to deal with in 20 years+. Counting down the days till I can leave them. Tentacular Kay: 1/5 Stars 30/03/2019 Excessive amounts I can't believe how many issues I have had with this company overcharging me, I'm using the same amount of electricity and gas I have always used, which isn't that much really.. and im being charged over 2 and a half grand a year?!?!?!?! Ive been paying monthly payments of £60 and just checked my account to see that they think I owe them 2 grand? I'll be switching on Monday and I will be appealing this issue with them...STEER CLEAR Ovo Energy has not yet responded. Jackie Bowler: 1/5 Stars 01/04/2019 Apauling! Would not recommend Ovo to anyone. Have had nothing but trouble since joining 2 yrs ago. Took ages to fit smart meter that has not worked since installation well over a year ago. Have waited for an engineer to turn up to their appointments twice now.....both times cancelled. Have wasted days and time clearing space in garage prior to an engineer arriving and have had to put everything back when no show. Sick and tired now am switching supplier asap. Sar Williams: 1/5 Stars 08/05/2019 Refund withheld after switch Fine up until 1 year in. Then OVO raised direct debit by 100% over the year. Increased price also as soon as possible. At the point of switching the direct debit had raised from £62 when the account was opened to £168 less than 3 years later. Switched online via switching website and seemed smooth. Within 2 weeks was told switch was complete by OVO and that WITHIN 6 Weeks I would get final statement and any balance would be refunded. At this point I had a credit balance of over £200. Then they continued to collect further direct debit, and then wrote to me in April 27th 6 weeks later to say that they were raising prices and my direct debit was to be collected 8th May. I Left them in March!! Called to get resolved to be told. "Account Not transfered properly, they don't know why, and that they had all readings and on smart meter." Oops sorry, but too bad, you can't have your balance of £334 back yet, 6 weeks hasn't past because "we didn't switch and don't know why, sorry bout that!" Couldn't speak to manager, told anyway pointless because this was the process so they would only re confirm the same and I can make a complaint. This process meant that someone would reply within 5-10 days, what a joke. Meanwhile no refund. Completely incompetent, or worse Ovo Energy has not yet responded.
