Terrible Service!
 
I used the drain division of Able Group to unblock my kitchen drain. I was not informed that no guarantee was given for the job. Within a week it was blocked again as they did not bother to check my outside drain. They refused to come back unless I payed £126 again and told me to call Thames Water. I will never use this company again!!

Forget Customer Care - it's all about the £
 
We asked them to remove a bees nest in our garden, the operative advised he had 20 other visits in the day, spent less than 5 minutes at our property and wafted some powder in the rough area of the place wasps were going in and out. This agitated the wasps and we weren't able to go into the back garden for a number of days, the nest hasn't been impacted. The chap left a form that has some ticks roughly across it and then the customer service really started to kick in. They are phoning 4 times a day to get paid for a job that they haven't done, I called them and sat on the phone for 40 minutes passed from one person to another, until I spoke to a supervisor...his only comment was that you signed the form so you need to pay, no explanation that they made no efforts to actually do the job. We got a proper company in to do the job and they came prepared, found the nest entrance, took them 30 minutes and was half the cost...we will now what cowboys look like next time, I guess that is the one thing we can thank them for.

Avoid.
 
Able group came to one of our branches… Able group came to one of our branches and carried out a test on our sockets, unauthorised by me, the owner. The work took 2.5hrs and they have charged £388.80. !!!! I have my own electrician who charges £180 per day so I am very upset with such a rip off. How they can justify £155 AN HOUR is beyond belie

Diabolical company
 
My tenants lost their hot water supply so I phoned Able to ask if they could sort this as I live a 4 hour drive away so not really close enough to do the job myself. Able hot line were very polite and helpful and I was told they could fix the problem Saturday morning and that this was NOT out of hour charge rate as Saturday mornings were classed as normal rate charge out at £65 hour plus vat - why do companies always do this when dealing with the public that are unable to claim the vat back it’s just wrong on so many levels. Anyway THEY cancelled Saturday morning with some lame excuse and re booked it for Monday between 5 and 7pm and I was assured I would not be charged out of hour prices as they had changed the appointment however, having arrived and messed around for a terminal emergency time taking an entire hour to change the hot water element in a vented system so not even necessary to drain the tank down I am then charged over £135 + vat for the call out and a further £40+ for the cheap and nasty element that I could have purchased for less than £30 from any merchant store! Over £201 to replace a simple hot water element is outrageous. Over £135 an hour is more than £1,000 A DAY INCOME that’s more than I get to live on in 2 months and they have just robbed me of half my monthly income for something that even at 70 and female had I lived closer I could have fitted in half the time and half the cost.

Plumber fails to repair shower, but charges for poor quality work.​

I sourced a plumber through the Able Group to fix my leaking shower. In good faith, I trusted the plumber when he advised re-grouting and a new silicone seal. He carried out this work but the leak persisted. On top of this the re-grouting flaked off. Despite me contacting the company on several occasions, the issue was not resolved and I have only been offered a partial refund. Incidentally a friend looked at the shower and was able to correct the leak by reconnecting the waste pipe. The plumber from the Able Group had not even identified this issue. It was suggested by the plumber that I should claim for a new shower on the house insurance. This has caused me untold stress and anxiety and I hope that others do not receive similar treatment.
