Joe Taylor: 1/5 Stars 26/06/2016 Meriva eps fault hi i took my 53 plate vauxhall meriva to my local branch today (winsford, cheshire), because i was having problems with the power steering failing as i was going round rounder bouts. they diagnosed the car as a faulty steering rack due to a common fault on vauxhall merivas. they said it wouldnt be covered ad i would have to pay nearly £1000 to get it fixed. i phoned vauxhall head office and gave my reg and mileage to which the man went away and came back saying that it was one of the affected vehicles and it would be covered under extended warranty with no charge. after saying my garage said it wasn't he came back to say it was to old. ive since spoken to dvla and vosa about the issue and they are saying because its a safety issue that is recognised by Vauxhall and the car is in the age range and mileage range it should be covered. the man on the phone at head office even said it was covered to start with then seemed to change his mind Vauxhall Motors has not yet responded. Steven Cahill: 1/5 Stars 03/12/2018 Battery terminals hot I have had same issue viechle in for recall before I read this and told Vauxhall the battery terminals are getting hot and they said that this is nothing too do with the recall or why they’re catching fire but realsitically this could have a major part too play as Vauxhall are doing the recalls and still cars are catching fire Vauxhall don’t know the actual problem they’re guessing and pointing fingers instead of listening too the owners of the cars Vauxhall Motors has not yet responded. Harry Wakeford: 1/5 Stars 06/06/2018 Characteristic Noise, Or A Fault !!!!! I purchased a 2007 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 136 Elite from Lookers Ellesmere Port, with 1,900 miles on the clock. After about a couple of months later October 2017 it developed a noise coming from the front end, sounds like a rattle/ knocking noise. This only happens at speeds up to about 20MPH, in slow moving traffic and disappears after that, it was inspected by a Field Technician from Vauxhall Motors last October 2017 when the fault first appeared, it has been test driven again today 6th June 18 because the noise has increased in volume and i am concerned because of this. The Field Technician and the Management at Lookers Vauxhall at Ellesmere Port agree with me there is a noise, but it is characteristic to the vehicle, and all Vauxhall Astra car have the same noise./fault. They insist it is not a fault in anyway with the car, it is a characterisic noise, but why was it not there when i first purchased the car? I am unable to receive an answer to this question. I have been informed Lookers will not investigate it any further due to the fact Vauxhall Motors will not reimburse them if they can't remedy the fault, and Vauxhall Motors are not prepared to investigate the problem. other than test drive and listen to the noise. The Manager at Lookers agree with me the noise is aggravating, but uses the same excuse as the Vauxhall Motors Field Technician, its characteristic to the vehicle. My advice to anybody who is considering buying a Vauxhall Astra, think very carefully before making the decision, the problem i have with this car is more than being a characteristic noise. Vauxhall Motors are just not interested in trying to trace the fault, if all Astras had this noise, as I have been informed, sales would drop like a brick, but the fact they haven't proves all Vauxhall Astras don't have this same problem, its more than a noise which has now become louder on my car, this proves there is a ongoing fault that will become more troublesome in the future, when the guarantee has run out. I have been a customer of Lookers Vauxhall since 1966, in fact, long before Lookers came on the scene, the standards of Customer Care must have declined, in the past if i had reason to ask for advice i was always greeted with the most helpful staff, but for some reason on this ocassion i have been fobbed off with an excuse, using the word characteristic, what a get out. Vauxhall Motors has not yet responded. Charlea Cooke: 1/5 Stars 24/04/2018 Corsa D handbrake Recently had the recall for Corsa D 07-13 handbrake problems. Car actually cost me 4k last year when randomly rolled down the slope out the front of my house 20 minutes after I had left it parked... Seems unreasonable Vauxhall say it's not their fault, surely by having a recall and 'fixing' everyone's handbrake, you are admitting some liability... But No, of course it's my fault and good luck footing the bill son.... can't really recommend Vauxhall again…. Vauxhall Motors has not yet responded. Jason Powell: 1/5 Stars 24/10/2017 Meriva 1.7cdti power steering failure I purchased this car on a 60 plate all seemed good coming out of Asda supermarket car park and. The light came on showing power steering and I had no steering Got it to local Vauxhall dealer to be told power steering pump has gone but would be covered by the woranty to then get a call on Monday to be told warranty will only cover £500 and I need to pay £947 on top which I have just seen it's a common fault so if this is the case Vauxhall should replace free as it is not complying with duty to surplus cars of a suitable standard and as a power steering unit it should surely last longer than it has the car had a service in march and I even asked was there any known problems with this model be for purchase and was told there is no known problems Vauxhall you are loosing a lot of customers and I feel you don't care about your regular purchases please sort this out and do the honest thing and get this sorted and save face with your customers and all so with your competitors show us you do care and you will take action to rectify this urgently it could be a result of a death on the road do you want this on your shoulders As in my eyes this would be classed as manslaughter by neglect.i wait for a reply I will be calling the costumer service tomorrow Vauxhall Motors has not yet responded.
