Your Vets Now Reviews
Kath Mahon: 1/5 Stars 11/06/2017 Fees. On the evening of 13/5/17 (Sat) my 11yr old G/Shepherd's back legs & a front leg collapsed at home due to CDRM which he had for 3 years, so "sadly" we knew this was the end. We contacted "Vets Now" in Huyton and explained everything, and that we didn't want to traumatise him further by carrying him to the Vets which he hates and he will be more comfortable at home. We asked them to "call out" to euthanize him I gave the details of his size, weight etc., the price "quoted" was "£600". As it was so expensive I contacted other vets but none called out. Story short Sunday morning approx. 8.00am I rang "Vetsnow" again and requested the call out. I was informed that the Vet is busy (fair enough) but she would call at 6.30pm. Several hours and several calls later we were still waiting! Eventually I got hold of a different Vet who had just come on shift and I had to give her all the info again, her "quote" was "£787.46" a difference of "£184.14" from "previous evening" (The "call out alone is £306.84!) I agreed to the cost as by this time as I was so emotional / upset etc. I just wanted him put out of his misery. (I had to pay upfront by card at 9.45pm). After hours of waiting & chasing up the Vet she eventually arrived at 11.40pm, "5 hours" later and just before midnight when the cost probably changed as the weekend call out rates would end. (The Vet was full of apologies for being extremely late but I was so emotional what could I say by this time). Any other "service" treated us this way we would instantly "cancel" our business with them but as it was an emergency and all that was on offer we had to accept it! He was pts just before midnight. I know that they are busy but why offer a 24hr service if you can't maintain it. For the price they charge you expect a top class service. I will think twice before using or recommending them in future. I must say though the reception staff I spoke to throughout the day were very apologetic and understanding, credit where credit is due. Unfortunately I'm sad to say to me this Vets is more of a "business service" than a "caring service”. I will definitely "not" be using them for my future pets or indeed recommending them for an emergency call out service. Vets Now has not yet responded. Stuart Fillingham: 1/5 Stars 04/03/2019 Money first animal welfare last! My dog is being treated by the pdsa and currently has a splint fitted to his leg. I pay pdsa for the care he gets as i am not entitled to free care. The day after the splint had been re dressed the splint broke. About 4.50pm on a Saturday. I called the pdsa and was put through to an emergency vet. Vets now! It is not made clear to you that you are being tranfered to a different organisation so I was confused when I was told it would cost about £140 to have the splint replaced, normal price around £20. The woman on the phone was rude, uncaring, obviously had no concern for animal welfare at all. And insisted I would have to pay up front. She laughed at me when I asked if there was a possibilty of talking to a vet. And told me they don't give out free advice. She even went on to suggest I had not been caring for my dog properly, intimating the situation was my fault. I see they have failed to respond to every complaint on here, which in my mind sums them up! Money orientated, unprofessional company that cares nothing for animal welfare. Sonia Hall: 1/5 Stars 10/07/2019 Charges They take advantage of customers in distress with poorly and injured animals, knowing there is no where else to turn to in out of hours surgery and charge them over inflated rates, they should be some kind of watch dog to regulate vets, who think they have licence to print money at owners and pets expense Vets Now has not yet responded. Julie Ward: 1/5 Stars 11/08/2019 Emergency care. Guildford Branch Dog left with Vets 4 Now Guildford. Wouldn't allow me to see my Dog. Very uncaring. No staff came out to comfort me. Asked for an update. Told by staff...nurses too busy to come out. Never spoke to anyone regarding my dogs hospital day stay, apart from night Vet who was informative. Nobody around during the day. Most unpleasant experience. Will never go there again. Vets Now has not yet responded. John Pattie: 1/5 Stars 20/08/2019 Pets Now Liverpool Took my daughters 12 week old puppy here after injuring her paw on Saturday 17th August. Agreed £150.00 first consultancy due to her being in severe pain. Upon being took into a room we were told to weigh her and she had her temperature taken. We were told that she had to stay in till Monday morning and quoted a £1200.00 fee for care. On telling her we could not afford this she said to either pay the money or euthanise her. We were then told we could not take the dog due to her being in pain. I told her we were going elsewhere and she gave her a injection of morphine. Had to pay the princely sum of £180.00. we took her to another vet's who were much cheaper. She had my 17 year old daughter in floods of tears and she is a disgrace to the profession. How they can justify the quoted fee is astounding. Vet's now Liverpool are a disgrace. Do not go there. Daylight robbery. Vets Now has not yet responded.
