VPL Lyons: 1/5 Stars 07/07/2018 15 months wait In April 2017 I paid my annual service charge of £239.88. The same month an engineer called who took the boiler to pieces, he said that it needed a new part. He assured us that he would order the part and that it would not be too long before he came back and we had hot water and heating restored. A short time later we received a letter stating that the part required exceeded the amount we were covered for and therefore the boiler was not serviceable any more. Because my husband is on dialysis we needed hot water and heating quickly and contacted British Gas who installed a new boiler for us. In the meantime, I contacted XtraWarm telling them that as they were unable to service and maintain the boiler for the coming year I wanted our advance payment cheque returned. I was told that ‘they would look into it.’ It is now 15 months and all my phone calls have drawn a blank. No one knows anything about it and every time I phone I am passed from department to department. Today, Saturday 7th July I received a phone call asking me if I would like to make an appointment to have my boiler serviced. Once again, I told them that I no longer have this boiler and that the service agreement was cancelled by them as the boiler was too old to be repaired. Apart from the £239.88 advance payment which I feel should be returned I am well out of pocket as I have made so many phone calls. If someone from XtraWarm is reading this will they PLEASE refund our money. 15 months is more than enough time to ‘look into it’! Xtra Warm has not yet responded. Ellie Smith: 1/5 Stars 14/03/2018 No Heating My parents who are 88 & 89 have been dealing with a faulty boiler since the end of february, the boiler packed in and an engineer came out saying it needed new parts, he got the boiler going but it stopped working after a couple of days.To cut a long story short they have been left with no heating or hot water for 5 days, my mother has made numerous phone calls to try and get someone to come out but no one has turned up, they were promised someone would come out today and no one has come, they are now saying tomorrow. My father is house bound and has health complications, he is also on blood thinners which means he feels the cold more. If no one from this company turns up tomorrow at my parents house to get the heating fixed this will go further. Xtra Warm has not yet responded. Ruby Letchford: 1/5 Stars 01/03/2018 Check your policy!!! My 92yr old mothers condenser boiler stopped working due to the outside pipe freezing. I phoned xtrawarm out of hours number at 7.50am only to be kept on hold until 9.10! Then I was told "This is the out of hours number it's now after 9 so you got to call main number!" Then when I got through I was informed that mums policy doesn't cover outside frozen pipes. Although I argued that as an elderly person she should have been advised she needed a policy that covered not only her boiler breakdown but also pipes leading from the boiler outside as she would have been totally unaware of this. Surely a condenser boiler should have that cover as it is part of the "system" on a condenser boiler. I was also advised that it doesn't cover emergency call out and that even if covered an engineer wouldn't be able to attend until Monday or Tuesday (I rang Thursday when it was -4degrees) again any boiler breakdown with the elderly should be an emergency regardless. Shocking company. Shocking service!Needless to say I'm now in process of switching mum to British Gas! Xtra Warm has not yet responded. Gemma Rowe: 1/5 Stars 07/02/2018 Disgrace of a company My elderly parents heating broke on Sunday, they called Xtrawarm on Monday am and was told they would be in touch with a engineer and someone would be back to them soon. After hours of waiting in the cold house called them again to be told that that person should not have said that as they didn’t know when someone would be out.....great service. Did get another call back that evening to say someone would be there at 12.00 on Wednesday. 1.00 on Wednesday still no engineer. Phone call at 1.30 to be told they couldn’t come today as was stuck at another job so now will be Thursday.... I hold no hope for this. Totally unhelpful call handing service. Will not be renewing the contract Xtra Warm has not yet responded. CLICK HERE: You could save up to £497 on your energy bills by switching your supplier| COMPARE ENERGY QUOTES NOW |

David Jones: 1/5 Stars 14/12/2017 No Heat for 101 Year old My mother's heating broke down on Monday. She phoned Xtrawarm who could not inspect the system until THURSDAY despite the fact that she is 101 and living on her own and we were heading for the 2 coldest nights of the year, they did say she would be a priority. We contacted Social Services to see if they could help. Social Services contacted Xtrawarm who said they would move her up their priority list. Today is Thursday-- ttheir engineer is due between 2pm and 4pm. I'll be changing her Maintenance Contract to British Gas next week. Xtra Warm has not yet responded.
