The issue is he hosts a talk show on Russia Today, the Moscow-funded and state controlled broadcaster so he was asked three times if he believed Russia was responsible for the attack on former spy Sergei Skripal three years ago. Why wouldn’t he say as we have done, as all our allies have done and as most of the opposition politicians in Russia have done that this had the vile hand of Putin is all over it. Surely he wasn’t concerned that Alba will sink without trace at the upcoming Scottish elections and wants to make sure he can still broadcast when this latest political foray is over.
