Boris, turn off that bloody covid app before the country grinds to a halt

The pingdemic is ludicrous and I fear Boris will lose the benefit of his vaccine bounce unless he does something quickly- like scrapping the app. What is the point of being double jabbed but get pinged, the test turns out negative but still you must stay at home for days on end. Quite ridiculous.

The whole country will be staying at home at this rate. Here are a couple anecdotes I happen know about.

1. Last week the Rector of St Andrews in Boughton, Northants and his wife ( they have both been double jabbed) were pinged. They went for a test.  It was negative but under the 10-day rule he was forced to stay at home and left the Sunday didn’t service and left it to a parishioner.
2. Some friends were double jabbed. They do look as they have covid and are now  sweating on a holiday in Spain in just over two weeks.

So if all the double jabbers are being pinged its only a matter of time before the country will grind to a halt.

I was in M&S this morning and I’m not sure if it was simply a Sunday morning rush for barbecue food or a gloomy warning about shortages by the store’s CEO but the shelves looked remarkably thin.

Already the Metropolitan Tube line is not working as the staff are all claiming pingdemic and just watch your hospital scrapping ops galore as doctors and nurses call in.

This is very serious and unexpected. We are looking to you Prime Minister to solve this issue. Pronto
