Labour politicians based in North London would queue up in Seventies to put their kids in there.

Then it went downhill until Colin Hall and his team up. In 2014 it was described as outstanding by Ofsted.

Of course some teachers found the going tough. Now twenty-six of the school’s recently departed have complained to the governors about the way they were treated.

They make serious complaints but do so anonymously. They claim bullying and intimidation by Mr Hill and his colleagues.

Further, they said the atmosphere affects staff turnover and morale.

Nine of the signatories have been signed off school for stress, depression and anxiety. They said they were humiliated, publicly named and shamed for poor work or given seating plans for staff meetings to indicate who was in or out of favour.

Some say they were threatened with poor references to deter them from attending job interviews or given inaccurate and damaging references that led to some job offers being revoked.

Pretty easy to make these allegations. Supposing some of the teachers were simply not up to the job.

Supposing they simply cannot deal with being told there work is simply not good enough.

There are good teachers and poor teachers. I don’t know the details of this case ( it being carried by the Socialist friend The Guardian) but I do know we need more heads like Mr Hill. There may be some collateral damage. So be it. Our kids benefit.
