Nigel Farage’s words matter. As he proved by forcing a Brexit vote he does have power. Even today with his nightly show on GB News he can draw an audience who hang on his every word.
Therefore he should be careful about what he says as it can have consequences.
This is what he said about the Royal National Lifeboat Institution; “It has become a taxi service for illegal immigration.”
The RNLI, a charity, have been called in by Border Force as they cannot pick up all the migrants making their way across the channel.
It is not RNLI’s fault that we cannot send back the migrants back to France who are clearly doing nothing about capturing the smugglers or turning round the boats still in their waters.

Anyway the effect has been the volunteers are starting to be abused by members of the public. This is unacceptable.
The chief executive of the RNLI said the police had to be called to their HQ at Waterloo last week when a crew was “verbally assaulted” while reporting for duty.
The CEO, Mark Dowie, said half of all callouts for the nine RNLI stations along the coast between Eastbourne and Margate were to rescue migrant boats, a significant increase on two years ago.
The RNLI says its job is to “save lives at sea…..without judgment on how they came to be in the water.”
We need Priti Patel, our Home Secretary, to solve the problem. I like the Rwanda solution but one thing I do know it’s unfair and unreasonable to blame the RNLI.
Be grateful if it stopped right now.
