That book was written by the American conservative journalist Andy Ngo who has earned the ire of the left by often attacking them either on Fox News or in opinion articles for the Wall Street Journal. All Marshall said was; “Congratulations…..finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man.” That was in March and from that moment on the Left had a field day. It was not clear if Marshall, the son of the Brexit supporting tycoon Sir Paul Marshall, had the support of the rest of the band or the management. I really admire Marshall. On his exit he quoted Solzhenitsn, the Soviet-era novelist and political prisoner, basically saying he could now honour his own conscience and speak on controversial issues without harming his bandmates. Gnaw my conscience. I’ve already felt that beginning.” Marshall’s family know about oppression and pain. Thirteen family members were murdered in concentration camps during the Holocaust. I think it disgraceful that if you support somebody from the Right you lose your career but if he had come out for some numpty of the Left (say an untalented midget like Owen Jones) he would not only have kept his role as lead guitarist and banjo player but probably been given the freedom of Wandsworth as well. Looking at it from a commercial perspective is it only the Left that buys tickets to concerts and buys music? I wish Winston every success for the future. A man of talent and a man of courage. PS If you plan to buy either car or home insurance I wonder if you might look at my small price comparison site A Spokesman Said as we earn a little commission from each sale which helps und the research and editorial costs of running the site. It has the same offer as the big ones like Go Compare. Thank you. READ MORE: Click here to read more articles from Kelvin MacKenzie
