The NHS sentenced 41,675 of our elderly to die and nobody, repeat nobody, has ever said sorry.10/12/2021 If you plan to buy either car or home insurance I wonder if you might look at my small price comparison site A Spokesman Said as we earn a little commission from each sale which helps fund the research and editorial costs of running the site. There was a lot of waffle in the first official report into how Boris and Co handled Covid but the one number that I found shocking was the care home deaths; Incredibly one in four of everybody who died was in a care home, a staggering 41,675. Yes, 41,675. And the reason was simple. Hospitals decided as soon as Covid started to bite to kick out 25,000 elderly patients from the wards and into care homes without bothering to check if they had the virus. This was done allegedly to ‘’protect the NHS’’. And the result? It seeded the virus among the vulnerable. The report by the Commons science and technology and health and social care select committees admits the UK was not alone in suffering significant loss in care homes but said the scale of the loss was among the worst in Europe and could have been avoided. The over 80s were 70 times were likely to die than those aged under 40. It is far too easy to say that because they were old then their time was coming to an end anyway. They may well have wanted another year they didn’t want some NHS tosser to decide they were expendable. I would like each NHS Trust to investigate how many and where they send their elderly patients and work out how many died because of that decision. They were not just a number. They were somebody’s mum and dad. Somebody’s grandmother. I don’t want Boris to apologise. I do want the local NHS to investigate and then say sorry. It won’t bring the your relatives back but at least somebody in authority will have worried about their fate for the first time.
