The more I know about Prince Andrew the more I wonder if he has any brains at all. His studied silence to the sex allegations casts a shadow not only over him but the whole Royal family and at 95 must be a daily worry to The Queen. But it’s a story by gossip columnist Richard Eden in the Daily Mail that makes me certain he is not right in the head. He reveals that Andrew took not one, not two but three SUV vehicles to Scotland for his holiday to Balmoral. The three Chelsea tractors travelled in convoy for the 1,000-mile round trip from Royal Lodge, Windsor, to Deeside returning after a 10-day stay. Andrew still receives taxpayer-funded police protection although he retreated from public life because of his ill-judged friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. He was due to have his armed police cover down-graded but he had it restored after a complaint to The Queen. I presume it was two of the officers who drove the cars while Andrew drove the third. One of the vehicles was a new petrol powered Land Rover defender costing around £53,000. The other two were his Land Rover Discovery (£51,185) and his Range Rover petrol-electric hybrid costing a whopping £115,000. Has he an arrangement with Land Rover either receiving the cars at a discount or viewed as PR. If it’s the latter could I suggest to Land Rover that Andrew is not a good image for its business. While the rest of us are concerned in our small way about climate change Andrew says these things don’t bother me and if I want three large cars to go to Scotland to Scotland they will go. The sooner he is kicked out of the Royal household the better. I do not want to subsidise his life or his lifestyle. If you plan to buy either car or home insurance I wonder if you might look at my small price comparison site A Spokesman Said as we earn a little commission from each sale which helps fund the research and editorial costs of running the site. It has the same offer as the big ones like Go Compare. Thank you.
