New BBC shows get zero viewers, over 75's still have to pay licence fee

The BBC claims it can't afford to make cuts to its bloated staff salaries to fund the licence fee for over 75's...despite blowing £32m on a Scottish TV channel that managed to amass NO viewers on some shows.

The fact is that the BBC's output attracted fewer viewers than the nativity play at Barnet Primary School, but the elderly are still made to fork out £154 for that dross.

No viewers tuned into 21 programmes on the BBC’s new multimillion pound Scottish TV channel, prompting Scots to call into a radio show to express their outrage at the channel’s programmes, which they branded “rubbish” and “pathetic”.

Surely, even just by chance, someone must have accidentally switched onto the BBC Scotland programme? The presenter, who's probably on close to £100,000-a-year, might as well have done a live broadcast from within their own closet.

And Former BBC editor Tim Luckhurst told the Mail Online: “The figures are deplorable. But they simply confirm the central flaw in the entire project; there was never a shred of audience demand for it.

“It was launched in a forlorn attempt to please the SNP, a classic example of why the BBC should never bow to political bullying.”
